So the only people who will really get how bizarre this is are the few who are very local to me but I've just got to note it:
Woman falls asleep in the street in KELLEY SQUARE
Sleeping on the STREET. In KELLEY SQUARE!!1!
Okay, I can tell the rest of you are boggled. Allow me to explain. Kelley Square is famous for being this busy, busy intersection where...I think it's 7 streets all converge, and instead of a rotary or lights or traffic controllers armed with flags and whistles, there's just these clumps of islands in the middle and some arrows that everyone ignores.
To get where you need to be requires careful navigation and the ability to look in 6 directions at once so you can judge the speed of all the people cutting through your path, a process which almost everyone I've ever known describes as 'close your eyes and GO' even though that's about as far as possible from reality.
And this morning some woman is SLEEPING in the middle of that mess! I just. I wouldn't even want to be a pedestrian in that intersection, let alone lie down and take a NAP.
In other amazing news, Massachusetts has a Democrat coming to the Governor's mansion and about as many Democratic reps and Senators as we could possibly get, and last night when I was voting there were some races where I had the choice between a liberal Democrat or a member of the Green-Rainbow party so liberal or more liberal. I love this state, crazy intersections and all.
