giddygeekI've been having a hard time focusing on just one challenge, what with DWNOGA and Yuletide and the DS Secret Santa all bringing such good fic, but I sat down today and really got sucked in to the popslash.
The Cure GSF. Justin in this story cracked me up--he's so insane. So. Insane. He hangs up on his Momma. Clearly, something is very wrong with him. There is no wrong in this story, though. Funny and fabulous.
Pickers and Grinners, Lovers and Sinners Space AU! It's GSF but one of the guys doesn't get any, sniff. However, I loved it in all other ways. JC is not a sex alien, Justin isn't kinky, Joey isn't a criminal (anymore), Chris isn't going to conform, and Lance isn't going to rest until he gets his man.
Song of the Sea GSF. OMG. This story. This story is G.S.F. And it's everything that a gay sailor story should be, plus more. Long, full of smut and piracy and love and humor. Fantastic.
Boys on Film In my head, this is like the prologue to a long, hot story about my OT3. In reality, it's a hot little story about Chris, Joey, and a camera. I really loved the description of focused!Joey.
Not an Exact Science I liked pretty much all of the Choey stories this year, but this one was my favorite. It had me smiling all the way through. Chris is mad, and also a scientist, and Joey just doesn't stop coming back with food.
Smoke and Mirrors The guys take a band bathroom break and wind up facing a man-eating dragon. Hysterical.
Something Weird (and It Don't Look Good) There should be more Ghostbuster AUs in this fandom, and they should all be as snarktastic as this one.
Stardust I keep seeing people saying 'there's so many AUs this year!' and there are a ton of them, but I love them all. This one I love for the JC characterization. And the other guys, of course, but particularly JC.
A Corporate Takeover Chris tries to keep it casual and Justin doesn't let him get away with it. I really enjoyed the characterization--Justin in particular. My favorite Justin characterization always seems to come in Timbertrick stories.
Justin's Dark Design It is no secret that I love stories that focus on Plans! Gone Horribly Awry! If they go Awry in a funny and sexy kind of way, as in this story, I'm a goner.
Parts and Poems I can't actually say that I liked this story a lot, but I was fascinated by it. AU, really well-written, kind of desperate and sad and good.
Why yes, I read the GSF and most of the Chris pairings first. *G* Saving Chris/Lance for last, though. Next up, JoeC!
