OK, so. I'm helplessly amused by the wax pictures. And so damned glad they didn't do Chris' mohawk--I love the mohawk, believe me, but. The spiky hair! Relief. ;-)

However and completely unrelated--

I had an awful day at work. We have a delay on about 40 registration papers for dogs sold this spring which is absolutely not our fault and yet. And yet, I am the one on the phone every day trying to fix things, and I am at the same time the one who's getting blasted with the nasty phone calls from customers.

There are these two women in particular who are all, this dog is useless to me without registration papers! because they want to breed them. And I keep explaining to them over and over and overandoverandover again--your registration is limited. You breed this dog with the papers, without the papers, doesn't matter--the AKC will not register your puppies either way! You knew that when you signed your contracts! We tell everyone and more than that, you had to initial the section that said this dog is not sold at breeding quality and is sold on a limited registration! But they're not listening. At all.
Whatever.

Anyway, that one calls today and is all, I'm going to call Hank Phillipe Ryan! (the reporter for the local news who does the 'investigative reporting') and I just got fed up. So fed up. It takes so much work to piss me off but she's managed it. I said, fine. You do that. Have a blast. Can't wait till Hank comes over to chat and we show her your contract, mmk? And then she was like, well, if you don't refund my money for the dog, I'm taking you to Small Claims! To which I said, OK, you do that too. Go ahead. Just wait until I show the magistrate your contract. You'll walk out with $3.50, which is what you paid us for the papers. That'll feel like a real victory, won't it. And by the way, calling here and threatening us like this? is only taking away any time and desire I have to work harder for you. Thanks. Bye!

The thing that really gets to me isn't the way she talks to me though. It's the whole, her pet is useless! thing. Ok, WTF. Seriously, that kind of thing makes me want to steal the dog back. Argh.

And then not a half hour later, this woman who was a no-call, no-show for her appointment yesterday calls. She wants to come buy the dog today. But hey! when you don't call and don't show, we make another appointment for someone to view the dog. And once an appointment is set, no one else sees the dog. Which is what happened with this puppy she was interested in, I had scheduled someone else.

You'd have thought I commited some kind of crime.

She bitched for like, half an hour, and then called her husband so he could bitch too, and they called me cold and heartless because I couldn't let them buy this dog out from under the other people! And we should have called and asked why they didn't show! And given them a 24hr grace period! And-and-and.

The thing is, we're a good kennel and part of the reason why is because we have procedures and policies that we follow to the letter. We have rules. And one of those is--if you set an appointment, you will have a dog to look at. Another one is, if you don't show for your appointment and don't call--you have two hours to contact us. Otherwise? Well. We don't wait around mooning. And we don't hunt you down either because frankly? If you don't care enough/have the common courtesy to cancel your appointment, that's fine. Don't expect us to bend over backwards to accomodate you. And definitely don't expect us to sell you a dog, either. Even if the clients tomorrow don't take this puppy, these people aren't getting it. Sheesh.

There were other stupid things today, a lot of them. For a brief period around 2pm, I was literally shaking with anger. But then my manager came into the office with a puppy for me to cuddle and I got over it--

That's the best thing about my job. No matter how much it sucks and how much I sometimes want to quit, there are puppies. There are bony-elbowed puppy hugs and canned food-breath puppy kisses, and chubby paws, and much with the fluffy and the bright eyes and the happy wiggling. And the pooping. And the barking. And the chewing. All of it. Rather deal with that than people's idiocy any day.

*sigh*

Didn't mean to vent quite so much on LJ. But I feel better now so, whoot. Also. I love the new icon. And all the pics posted today. And I don't have cable but surely JC's video will be online soon and I shall be downloading. All in all, now that I've gotten the rant worked out of my system, I'm a pretty happy camper.

Also, I really want to go to New York now. *G* But first, to download JC's video. Yay!

Seriously, PopSlash--something happens every day around here that makes me grin. So fabulous. :-)

Popslashy stuff most certainly did. JC's video is freakin' hysterical. Not entirely in a good planned kind of way but you know, whatever. Still fun. ;-)

I'm glad you like the icon--I love it! I grin a little every time I look at it or at any of the wax museum photographs. Also go eeee! all five! every time too, which is kind of sad. But eee! All five! *G*

Aren't people just frickin' amazingly self centered? I'm surprised daily by just how much they are.

Go on and vent, girl! That was none of us has to bail you out of jail. ;-)

It seems to me like a lot of these people are worse this time of year. Feh. But no cop in the world would have arrested me, I'd have been like, 'Read my notes!' and they would have been like, 'Oh, OK, justifiable, let's go bury the bodies.'
