week of doom begins doomaliciously!
May. 1st, 2008 07:21 pmThere were many IMs up on my screen when I came home. I'm sorry, I should've put up an away message that said, "BRB, going to DC!" but I was distracted by going to DC. For a night. As you do, when you live in Massachusetts. *grins* Anyway! Hi, I'm home!
Phase one of Operation Marry Greta from The Hush Sound is complete (Phase one: Be In Same Venue), and let me tell you, I am more convinced than ever that it's an excellent idea. She's awfully wonderful, you guys.
I missed Medicine Man because after I spent an entire hour trying desperately to find parking in DC that didn't close at 7, I got into a fender bender. Minor! Mostly my fault, what with the being a little lost and a lot frantic because I was hoping to pass of my meet & greet passes to friends and I was so late.
The guy had some black paint on his car from my side mirror, and he not only freaked out and scared the crap out of me (I wouldn't get out of my car after he came over screaming and waving his hands), he called the cops, and then we had to wait there for TWO HOURS until someone finally came. To take the report about the PAINT. That the police officer was wiping off while we were all exchanging information.
The cop was obviously annoyed at having been called out for PAINT, I did not get a ticket, and after two hours of staring longingly at the (teeny tiny) venue, which was 3 buildings away, I finally got to the show. \o/
( I want Zach's job. )
So anyway, A++ concert, would go again!
soon!
ps,
janet_carter, thank you for the card! Hilarious and adorable! I totally grinned for too long after I opened it. ♥
Oh, and internets, I was thinking of you on the ride down to DC. I was pondering the chances of rain on Tuesday/Wednesday and thought, "Well, bandom huddles, we'll just huddle with umbrellas."
Then I thought of the huddling in Boston: Line moves, internets magically teleport 8 feet forward without breaking the circle. And then I laughed for like, 30 miles.
Did I mention I was really bored for part of the ride? The most exciting thing that happened between CT and MD was I figured out how to use cruise control. So bandom in an umbrella tent, rolling down the sidewalk? Hilarity. Whatever, I don't have to explain myself to you, I'm just going to go lie down with my cats and pretend they missed me. *grins*
