Nov. 9th, 2003 11:39 pmNow that we all have our SeSa pairings and recipients and such, I feel like I should make an effort to post more. Just in case my writer is reading and wants to know more about what I like! But. Eh. I'm pretty easy to figure out, I think, whether I post or not.
Still. Secret Santa Person Randomly Assigned to Me (henceforth really not known as SSPRAtM), I hope you're at least comfortable, if not delighted, by the pairing and by the specs. Thank you in advance! :)
So far as my own SeSa goes, I can deal. I'm eager to get started, actually. This is going to be a lot of fun. And I'm thinking about whether or not to do that mentor dealie, but my fear is of being left on the sidelines, unchosen, just like elementary school gym class. Sniffle. I apparently still have issues to deal with.
In other news, today I met a bunch of cool slash people at brunch in Boston, and got to see some of the popslashers, which is always a lot of fun. I've been feverish all weekend so was a little scared of whether or not I'd be functioning well enough to speak in complete sentences, but then I realized that I mostly don't anyway, so that was fine.
I was also afraid of being all fangirl because we were meeting Francesca! who, dude. Dude. *flails* I think I was remarkably calm, though. And met several others that I'm a little nervous to name because there were roughly 34534 different LJ names, pseuds and real names being tossed around, and I'm not sure who was what and etc. All supremely, supremely cool, anyway. I hope we get to do that again sometime.
It was very funny that people remembered my Sentinel slash in a way that seemed mostly like, not bad. *G* I tend to look back on it as an almost--not embarassing, because I did like what I was writing while I was writing it--a painfully awkward period, maybe? I was brand-new from X-Files het and I had just made a big change stylistically in my writing that improved it very much IMO, but still. I can't go to 852 and read those stories. It is cool that others enjoyed them though, at that time. Very, very cool indeed.
The news of a JC club show in Boston thrills me, and I've got the numbers to call stored in my cell phone memory and people have my work number so they can call me and remind me, and and and. Want. "" Nobody else is allowed to get tickets until after I have, because I said so! *G* But then you can all buy some and come along, and we can fill the Avalon with sparklyfen and make like NO, we're not SCARY, not at ALL!!11!1!.
smallbeer had a post today about my favorite ch/la pic, with the hug from behind and the chin on the shoulder and. The wonderfulness. She also mentioned that Lance is holding Chris' hand, which I hadn't noticed before, and which now is making me think baby!OTP thoughts that are surely going to send me straight to Hell. However, I've decided that it was worth it. Thank you,
smallbeer, for pointing that out!
In other, less fannish news, my job is still stressing me out to the point of misery but I love the puppies so much that I can barely think about leaving, my landlords get progressively more insane every day, the fish count is stable at 3 (Tricky, Kitten and Trout). Also, the fabulous and snackalicious
snacky celebrated her birthday (you're so great, and I hope lots and lots of badfic was read in your honor and IM me if you want to see pics of a hot dorky boy with eyeliner *G*, and mostly HAPPY BIRTHDAY!) and
kerri_berri is deserving of many, many hugs right now even though she didn't let me and Cait play with the masher-grater-choppy thingie and then tattled on us. The meanie. *hugs and hugs*
And...that would appear to be everything. I live such an exciting life. Three fish! Whoot. ;-)
