So like, JC/Chris is my second favorite. And not second by a huge margin, although I don't write much of it. I love it to pieces, and most of the people I chat with have it as their OTP. And I tease people a lot about stories that want to actually be Trickyfish but I think (hope) that most of them know I'm kidding and am delighted by either. (note to self, send [livejournal.com profile] mickeym subliminal messages to finish the GAR.)

I'm still probably not the person who should say anything, because I kind of have an image as a Ch/La OTPer. I don't know how that happened, really. *G* But! I have to admit that I'm not sure if I want JC/Chris to have a 'revolution' precisely, because Ch/La was starting to really make its climb when I first joined this fandom and it was great and grand and I loved watching more and more people get into it. But now there's like, backlash a little. And there're people who write it just because it's popular and not because they have any particular affection for it. Back in April or May I told people that I worried if Ch/La got more popular there'd be more mediocre, bland stories and less of the kind of fic that had made it a popular pairing to begin with. People would stop working for it.

Put like that it sounds kind of. I sound like a big fat superior jerk. Believe me, I know I turn out bland and mediocre too. I'm a lazy writer. Mostly I turn out fluffy crack, which isn't much better, but yes. And I read every Ch/La story I can find because there is almost always at least a spark of what attracts me to the pairing. Some bit of dialogue, some description that makes me sit back and say, yup.

But JC/Chris...it's solid. There's this level of quality to it that's so high and I think that the bar's been raised these past few months. It's just, IMO, a good pairing. I don't want it to be a juggernaut. I want it to be something written by people who adore it madly, for people who really really appreciate it. I want to coddle it and protect it and call it either George or Kittentrick, depending on whether or not [livejournal.com profile] merryish is around.

Anyway. My vote for a revolution? Timbertone. Cause, see, they'resocute. Well, not cute precisely but highly lickable, and making for the damn good smut, IMO. (note to self, find that story posted with the Justin-as-a-sexist and the skirt and the smut. Or send out a subliminal message so someone else finds it for you. Then, send feedback.) They're so great and they deserve more attention and yet, they're not JC/Chris or Ch/La, which. You know.

Yeah, I'm one of those girls who doesn't like it when her favorite local bands get huge. What of it? *G*

JoeC could also use a boost, I think. I was over here today, and yes. Yes yes. So much with the touching and the hotness. And the affection. And the JC snarkiness, which is to be treasured and adored.

In other news, there also needs to be more Dylan/Harper. Yes. And that is all. :)
