Sigh.

Computer trouble mostly over and done with, I think. The old computer collapsed, really, on Monday night so Tuesday a new one was purchased. I tried to save all the really important stuff and got most of it I think, so we shut down the old computer and went to set up the new one...which turned out to have a power supply defect. Lost the disk on which all the important stuff was saved, went back to the old computer in hopes of getting it again--nope! Old computer won't load! Disk failure, disk failure, disk failure!

So, possibly, all of my stories are gone. Poof. After work today I'll try to set up the secondary drive from that computer as a secondary drive in this computer and if it works, hurray. If it doesn't work, I'll have to bring the drive to a computer place and see if anything can be salvaged. If that's a no too, I'm going to cry a little, I think, because there just in this fandom there were 6 finished and unposted stories, 2 mostly finished (waiting for last lines) and a mess of working-on stories on that drive, and I was very proud of *all* of them. I mailed a copy of one story to Emmy and that's like, the only thing I have now.

But right now, I'm operating on the assumption that I can get them back! Happy!Giddy. Optimistic!Giddy. Shiny!New!Computer!Giddy.

Dammit, I really really hate having to be a responsible, going to work every day type person.
