Happy New Year, everyone!
I emerge from my incredibly hungover (bright idea: pulls of jack, jager & champagne, so classy), blinking, glazed state to announce that I'm resolved to organize and tag my fic and update my webpage frequently (ahahahaa), and to do my Yuletide reveals.
For Yuletide, I wrote Get Where You've Been Going for
iamtheenemy who guessed it was me based on my, um, 2005 Yuletide Entourage story. ;-)
I was so glad to get Entourage again this year--I love Vince/Eric but only ever seem to write them in gift stories. I may try to mix it up this year and write 'em unprompted and not be so predictable at Yuletide time...but I bet that come next year they're on my list again. It's just that I LOVE them! *grins*
I also received an Entourage story this year, What Happens in Vegas by
azewewish, about which I left stunningly incoherent feedback, and will have to do better. Fun fun story, with lots of the snarky, bitchy banter I so love!
At 10:30 on Christmas Eve,
astolat said that we needed a pinch hit/stocking stuffer. I wrote a crossover between The Chronicles of Chrestomanci and Howl's Moving Castle, Silvers Not as Dazzling, for
caudelac in a gleeful Chrestomanci and Howl! kind of daze.
Then I spent a good chunk of time feeding a chat room full of people quotes about Chrestomanci from the books. God, I love Diana Wynne Jones' characters. They're insanely charming.
Aaaaand that was Yuletide. A million (or 1052) thanks to
elynross and
astolat for running this beast of a fic exchange so smoothly and so well--it really makes the holidays brighter. I love it, and can't wait to go again.

Date: 2007-01-01 06:50 pm (UTC)Entourage started airing in the UK last year (we're up to...somewhere in series two, I think) and I wondered when it started why it hadn't been all over my flist because it's so fun, and so eminently slashable. Your two stories are both absolutely fabulous.

Date: 2007-01-01 07:51 pm (UTC)It IS so fun! And slashable! Eric and Vince are truly awesome, and I love the rest of the cast too. Turtle used to tick me off but he grew on me eventually and Ari, oh Ari, it was love at first bitchy remark. Hearts. ;-)
I'm glad you liked the stories, and I hope you get bit by the Entourage writing bug. That would be fantastic!

Date: 2007-01-01 08:11 pm (UTC)I don't know if I'd ever write Entourage. It's one of those shows, like Babylon 5 and Firefly, where I love the source something fierce but it's so perfect in itself that I don't get any urge to write it. I'm happy just to watch the shiny moving pictures. And in a way it's virtually fanfic anyway, because it's so totally about the characters, nothing much ever actually happens during an episode, they just hang out for half and hour and get into amusing messes and play pranks, and then help one another out and are geneally adorable. I honestly keep expecting Vince and Eric to just start having sex, it's that much like slash.
Any idea where that other Entourage story of yours would be? Or do I have to go back through your whole LJ looking for it? Because I will if I have to :-)

Date: 2007-01-01 08:25 pm (UTC)I think of Entourage as being a series of little candy episodes--virtually fanfic, yes. They just are so married! So in love! So MFEO! We almost DON'T need fic, but god I love it, and I will continue to keep my fingers vaguely crossed that someday you end up inspired.
A couple seasons into the show, I can't even pinpoint what it was about Turtle that bugged me. I think it was Turtle + girls = extra super obnoxious, and then he started hanging out with Drama more, so everything was all right. And he is SO Trace. I keep wanting to write a popslash/Entourage crossover but it seems almost like cheating. ;-)
The assistant belongs on The OC anyway, dating Seth Cohen yet not interfering with his love for Ryan. Have you met Lloyd yet? I heart Lloyd and Ari!

Date: 2007-01-01 08:54 pm (UTC)Lloyd is the new PA, right? He's adorable. :-)
Actually, I also like Eric's psycho semi-ex, because she's *so* psycho that she clearly isn't a real threat to his One True Love for Vince. Hmm. I think I'm even more obsessionally OTP about this show that I suspected.
Hee, yes. Entourage/popslash crossovers would be a thing of beauty. Lance/Eric/Vince, in a hot tub! Lance/Lloyd! Vince/Justin on set together! Turtle/Joey, with crazy amounts of alcohol! Vince/JC (omg, the laid-back and lounging)! Epic Vince/Eric/Lance/JC/Justin with multiple pairings and jealousy and hot group sex!
And, obviously, Ari/Chris. Because someone had to get him in ManBand.

Date: 2007-01-01 07:25 pm (UTC)Well, you write them very well! There's, like, five people in fandom that currently write Entourage, and I knew that the boys were too well done for it to be someone's first attempt at the pairing. So, you know, not a huge pool of suspects to pick from.
Or, I have telepathic powers. I'll let you decide.

Date: 2007-01-01 07:44 pm (UTC)I've never understood why it's such a teeny little fandom! They're absolutely made for slashing. But you've given me an idea for a new smokescreen for next year: Make tons of people write Entourage and then say 'who, me? Naw, coulda been anyone.' *grins*
I'm really glad you liked it. :)

Date: 2007-01-02 10:02 pm (UTC)Also, if you need an idea for non-Yuletide Entourage fic....*winks* I'd love to see some Eric and Vince- being a closeted couple in the industry
