May. 12th, 2008 03:11 amIt's 2 in the morning and I'm hanging out in my kitchen, trying not to wake up the whoever even knows how many fangirls sleeping in my apartment; what better time for a quick recap?
I saw MCR's fantastic Tuesday show in Philly from a comfy balcony with stools, a great view, and a waitress who brought us beer. Then I saw their sold out, unbelievably perfect show at Madison Square Garden from 5 people back on the floor in the best crowd ever (Faye doesn't start fights, she ends them). I saw Mama Way grooving and signing autographs, Frank making it rain, Ray pulling Frank's head down to his chest and then kissing his hair, Bob and Ray hugging, Brian everywhere, Gerard Way failing at the wave and succeeding at making Mikey laugh--who knew that all you had to do was pick the dude up and carry him around to make him happy?
I saw Panic sing a hilarious song about bracelets ("Spencer's got one!") and the internet deciphered the Panic hanky code--paisley means you like cozy! Around your forehead means you're the big spoon! It explains so much, you guys. Also, Spencer got a mic and he would like everyone to know that means nothing's gonna stop him now. <3
Best of all, I hung out with fangirls for many, many, MANY hours in the rain, the hot sun,
riadsala's kitchen floor, shitty NYC hotels and pricey NYC diners, the patio of the Chevrolet Theatre in CT, a seafood joint in Boston, the New Jersey Turnpike, and my own living room.
I've put thousands (!!!) of miles on my car. I got a million dollars in parking tickets. I was crabby and almost killed
bayleaf and
fayemeadows tonight in a parking garage incident, for the crime of backseat-and-passenger-side driving. I'd like to think I made up for it later with veggie burgers and blankets. *grins*
I met more people than I know what to do with, and yet I can tell by what I've seen of my friendslist tonight that I missed meeting many others. But, I mean. I met Australians; Canadians were underfoot like a certain band one or two of them enjoy; there were Californians, baby fangirls, lurkers who were awesome, most of my favorite fangirls and people who've been on my f'list for years but we were meeting for the first time.
All of them were people to whom I could say things like, "You can share my air mattress with me--what was your name again?" "Planes are big, hey," and, "I wish we could rent a hotel room for a couple hours. I mean, to NAP," and people who would laugh when I turtled down into my shirt while cuddling a coffee for warmth. ("BRB!")
And if you were around and caught me looking at you funny, don't worry about it. I was probably just trying to decide whether or not you'd be comfortable to lean against and fall asleep on. And most of you were! Amazing!
Also,
loveyouallwrong and I are geniuses and if you never find out why, just know that it's true, it's true.
I did fail to marry Greta, but enough other amazing stuff happened that I'm really going to try not to dwell.
And now it's 3am and Faye just got up and threatened to kill Lea in her sleep before stumbling off to the living room, I'm cold and I can't stop the coughing of the death flu, I'm on skip=520 aka Friday morning, and Sally is playing with an enormous Dunkin Donuts bag from this morning's Coffee Round 1 (pre-Life on the Murder Scene viewing #12312). It is good times over here, not gonna lie. But I do think I'll go to bed. I hope everyone I didn't see this week had a good one, and that everyone I did see had as much fun as I did. ♥
