Feb. 19th, 2007 09:05 pmOk, so,
bayleaf is having a problem with IRC. It's confusing, and she's been trying to fix it for days but no luck. I thought I would ask my friendslist, because you all are experts on, like, everything. *grins*
It goes like this. She can connect to the server she wants to be on. She enters the channel she wants to be in, and although the people in the channel can see her, she can't even see a channel window. She's got nothing. If she types a message, she gets back 'you are not on a channel'. She can't PM anyone, and doesn't see it when we PM her. She pings out.
Other people attempting to use their nicks on her computer have the same problems.
If she logs onto a different server, she has no problems.
It doesn't happen on her work computer--she can connect to the server, she can see the channel.
She's uninstalled and reinstalled mIRC, used a different source for mIRC, installed bersIRC, taken down her firewalls, and even done a system restore back to December, when she was having no problems. Nothing helped.
Anyone have any ideas, other than sacrificing a goat and/or filling her computer with rock salt?
