Jan. 3rd, 2005 12:41 pmFirst off, Happy New Year everyone, and welcome to the longest post ever, omg. *G*
My index and the Trickyfish links index used to live on trickster.org, which is experiencing some troubles at the moment. For now, we're going to be using the mirror site. If you visit either site, here's where you want to go:

My index has been updated with two new stories. The first one is my DWNOGA story, 8:88, a 65k JC/Chris for
strippedhalo. In her Dear Santa post, she said something like 'if it's an AU, of course time flies out the window' and this is what resulted. I'm considering a little bit of a rewrite on the ending which I think is a bit rushed, but whenever I reread to see where I could make changes, I get lost in love for this story just. as. it. is. so that might not ever happen. So far as I know, Halo still hasn't seen the story, but I hope she likes it. :)
The second is my Yuletide story, A Precise and Accurate History of Monday, Eleven Years Later. It's Crowley/Aziraphale for
notassuch and it's the longest story I've ever written (which is still only 95k but shuddup, I spent like 4 yrs writing X-Files vignettes, I'm amazed when I write something over 30k), and I think it'll have to be the only Good Omens story I ever write.
With popslash I always think, 'I have another story to tell and hopefully it'll be even better than this one, hughugpopslashhug.' I'm never really satisfied with myself and my writing, as much as I love every story I've ever written in this fandom. I always want to be better. But when I was finished with Monday, I sat back and thought, 'Well, okay, so that's that then.' It's the Good Omens wallow I always wanted to do, and I'm pretty much totally satisfied with it.
Of course, that's no guarantee that in two weeks I won't be sitting here thinking, 'man, that story missed something. Better go write another one and hopefully get it right this time!' *G*
I don't even remember who to thank for edits and such, because December was such a whirl of writing and rewriting and reading and editing and doing beta for other people. It was so much fun, as usual. I was in quarantine for chicken pox most of that time, and I seriously wouldn't have survived without these two challenges to work on.
The best part was writing my own stories--they just came so smoothly, with so little angst. It was fabulous. But it was also a blast to watch
kaneko run around in circles--needlessly; as everyone knows, her stories were amazing. It was also a lot of fun to spend an evening clicking links on a Once a Thief fanpage, asking
merryish if Vic or Mac was Krycek. And why people wrote slash about them, since they clearly had already slashed themselves, omg. Then she wrote an absolutely hysterical OaT story. And an amazing, hysterical DWNOGA story, man. *happy sigh* And the most fun-to-beta story was probably
rhyssj's GSF. I stayed up until I think 3am because I couldn't stop--it was the perfect popslash pirate AU story. Lovelove.
I really enjoyed people's guess posts. No one that I saw had pegged me for 8:88 but that's all right, I was totally flattered by who was guessed for that story. And I think I'm going to make more recs now that the reveal is done. I get bogged down because every year it seems like I beta more stories and nag more people and therefore know more of who wrote what. It gives me a headache to make 'anonymous' recs when I totally know the author.
But first is a long overdue update of the Trickyfish links archive. I slacked off so bad for most of 2004--well, slacked off on the internet stuff. In real life I had a ridiculously busy (and stressful) year. But we have high hopes for 2005. I'm going to attempt to start it off right. :)
