I went to Locobazooka today--kinda eh about it. Staind was good, and Ra and Revis were good, but no one else that I saw was terribly impressive. Although 'saw' is kind of an overstatement, as I'm a fairly short female and that was definitely a crowd of fairly huge guys. Also it was cold and rainy all day, and there was a little too much adventure for my taste while we were trying to escape the heaviest areas of moshing/crowd surfing. My friend [livejournal.com profile] kerri_berri had a guy jump off one of the rescue vehicles that were trying to get to hurt people, and he landed pretty much on her head, so she had a big lump and was pretty shaken up. I got pushed down and had what seemed like the whole crowd dropped on my back, which was smothering, and very ow.

But just like last time, it was Some Big Guy to the rescue--one pushed/threw people aside and picked me right up. I'm a chunky little chica, so that was pretty impressive. And then later, once we were in a safer place, I knelt down to tie my sneaker and I don't know if he was joking around with me or honestly thought I'd been shoved again, but Some Big Guy picked me up and set me on my feet right in front of my friend [livejournal.com profile] ezderrel, Catie, and hee. It was like nothing to him, to do that. Catie and I looked at each other and just went, oooh. Neat.

Kerri's boyfriend is a lot taller than us, about 6'1 to our 5'3, and at a couple of points during Locobazooka, he hunched over and put his chin on her shoulder and said either, 'Huh, you really can't see anything from down here,' or 'Wow! It sounds so different. All the sound is like, muffled,' or variations thereof which mostly included the word 'crappy'. It made me think about NSYNC concerts. I don't know anything about how they work sound at concerts, I'll admit complete ignorance on that, and say that I was thinking--the average NSYNC concert-goer would be more my height than Jay's. Or I'd assume so, anyway. ;-) Does that affect the way things are set up? Is it possible to cater to your audience like that? Or do things just sound better when your ears aren't smashed into people's arms/shoulders? Anyone who knows is welcome to enlighten me.

Overall, bands/crowd/weatherwise, I much preferred Lollapalooza.

My Mom called and gave me her credit card number tonight when I got home, and instructions to call tomorrow and get the best possible seats for us to see Simon and Garfunkel in December. Well, best possible excluding the floor seats--over 200$ each, man, no way. I don't know if there are other 22 yr old females out there so excited by the idea of seeing Simon and Garfunkel that they could cry, but yes. I'm so excited I could cry.

When NSYNC tickets go on sale (and they will, I still have faith) I probably am going to hyperventilate, pass out, miss my opportunity to grab some, and be forced to sneak in. If I get arrested in the attempt, I hope you guys will help bail me out.

And...I'm completely exhausted. And my arms and my back and my chest hurt. I think that means it's time to nap for a week. ;-)

So I was gonna post this yesterday but didn't get home in time. [livejournal.com profile] kaneko said, no problem! Just do it tomorrow! You know you wanna! And I do. I love Joey, and here's 20 of a thousand reasons why. :)
