6:15 arrive home
6:16 get mail from mail box. Package! Must be one of the marionettes ordered off eBay!
6:16 is Lance marionette! whoot! remove from box.
6:17 realize Marionette Lance has a somewhat pained expression. like he's wishing for freedom and a better life, not this stringed-and-uncomfortably-clothed business.
6:18 realize am not suited for a career in puppetry
6:18 realize Marionette Lance has a little belly button and painted on boxers.
6:18 realize am suited for a career in pervery.
6:19 am sad that Chris marionette has not yet arrived and cannot be perved. Sulk.
6:20 Marionette Lance's introduction to Extra Scully does not go well! Extra Scully doesn't relax or respond even the littlest bit when Marionette Lance ends up draped all over her. Perhaps proximity to Quasimodo made her a little shy. He and the alien doll that is missing (!!!) are always staring at her chest. Creeps. Marionette Lance really is not much better, with his hands on her ass. Creep.
6:21 realize that Marionette Lance still looks a little pained, even though he's grabbing Extra Scully's ass. Also, he has strings coming out of the back of his pants.
6:21 closer inspection uncovers the fact that the strings are coming out of his ass. Have taken these things as proof that Marionette Lance is gay gay gay. Am not surprised.
6:22 am still not surprised that Marionette Lance is gay. have obtained scissors.
6:25 have cut all the strings off what is now Doll Lance and then attempted to neaten his clothing, which is all loose threads and random bits of excess fabric. Have noticed already that Doll Lance seems happier!
6:25 realize that am incredibly lame. Put dolls away. Pretend not to be hope-hope-hoping that Marionette Chris arrives soon. Wonder where battery charger is for the camera.
...
7:25 am still lame. Put Doll Lance away again. Vow to get out of house more often.

It's so sad that I entertain myself so very, very much, I think.

But it's also good! I gave in today and cancelled cable. I had gone from Oct-March without it and not been bothered, and so far in the month of August I'd watched a couple episodes of Queer Eye, two Andromeda reruns, and just enough MTV to accept the fact that I will never, ever see the Senorita video. I really prefer to be online when I'm home and bored so why continue paying the $64 a month? It feels like a big fat waste. We'll see, though. I might have to order it again if Fastlane comes back (is Fastlane coming back?) or I can't get anyone to tape Andromeda for me, or if NSYNC comes out with a new album after all and there are 329139 performances. ;-)

I took another long-delayed step into adulthood and bought curtains. I let my mother come with me, and I refused to buy any curtain or curtain item that cost more than $15, and I could not for the life of me remember the colors of anything in my apartment. Despite all that I ended up with curtains that look good. Probably because my mom snatched the curtains that were too expensive out of my hands and marched up to the counter and bought them for me. I knew there was a reason I let her come with. ;-)

Also bought two new betta fish. Originally they were named Kitten and Fula but a friend came over last night and insisted that the second new fish be called Caboodle. We'll see. The Tricky Fish seems pleased to have the other two fishbowls on the windowsill with him. My mother told me that the local police pulled a small alligator or crocodile, she couldn't remember which, out of the lake. She said they're saying it was probably someone's exotic pet that got too large and was abandoned. I said yeah, but probably the only reason they caught it was because it had gone on the run from the big skeery escaped Illicit Fish. She said I was a dork. She probably wasn't wrong.

I have to go back to work tomorrow. Blech. I'm gonna go try to finish up my challenge story a bit more tonight, while I'm still relatively low-stressed and capable of writing. Perhaps I will take Doll Lance with me and let him observe the process. ;-)
