I'm so dumb, so so dumb. I brought home another dog today, one brought to the kennel for home placement even though she's not one of our dogs. Another Sheltie. This one's name is Mazie and she's 7 mths, tricolor. She's lovely, although not like Sheba, who is close to show quality, really. Still, she's just a baby and will probably grow into her looks. Except maybe not, because her tail is freakishly long and her face is very, very thin, even for her breed, but oh well. Her markings are nice and her coat is already great. She's just not as well-bred as Sheba, I do not think. This is not a shocker--Sheba was actually bred by the people I work for, a million years ago when they did Shelties. Our breeder really just has a magic touch. This dog was bred by some woman who had a female and her neighbor had a male. One of those, it's purebred and therefore it's breeding quality! type things. But anyway.

She's pacing my kitchen nervously right now, keeps coming over to bump me with her nose and curl up on my feet. A very sweet little dog. But, ugh. The last thing I need in my life right now is another pet! Especially such a young one--the other dogs are elderly and my cats are middle-aged. I'm gonna work on finding Mazie a home with kids, I think--

But I kind of want to keep her, way much so. She's just so lovely and sweet and she's a Sheltie! And I love them!

Can't can't can't. Ugh.

Anyway. I must respond to feedback, which I have been neglecting very badly. Must also send postage money off to people who've sent me tapes. Must re-order Reel Nsync, as the cats knocked it down so Keisha could munch on it and ruin it. Must get the cleaning done because Trishafish and Cujo are coming Friday! Must bathe the dogs. Must clean the yard. Must get Mazie's crate and food and toys and stuff out of the car. Don't want to do any of these things. Want to go to Borders with Kerrilynn and then Cafe Dolce for coffee and, mmm, riccotta mousse pie. Mmmm.

Am resisting! Despite evidence to the contrary (ie, my big fat butt and the three dogs living in my little house) I have willpower! I do! Look, I'm going to get things done!

Yeah. Look at me go.

Sigh.

Um.

I think I'm possibly one of three people on Earth who really, really doesn't want Lance to go to space. :-( I'm like, scared for him, seriously. I don't want them to drop him in the ocean! Or make him live off twigs in the forest! Or be followed around by TV cameras all the time! No Making of a Basstronaut, darnit!

Plus also--what do people do once they've been to space, if they're not regular astronauts? I mean, that's pretty much the biggest adventure possible. How do you go back to a normal life after something like that? How could you ever be satisfied with simple things, after space?

But I have all these story images sparked by it too. Working currently on a pre-leaving GSF, a post-Sync trickyfish involving stargazing, and two stories where Lance decides that after space, the only more challenging thing he can attempt is a long-term relationship. Sigh.

Is it really so lame to not want one of your favorite popstars to leave the planet? Really? To want him to join Joey in Rent*? With the rest of the guys too? Is it really so lame?

And no, Kerri, you're not allowed to answer that. *G*

*one of the phone calls from Mark's mom made me totally giggle and want Lance in the show as Mark's post-Maureen love interest. "We're sorry to hear that Maureen dumped you, I say c'est la vie. So let her be a lessssssbian--there are other fishes in the sea! Love, Mom!" and everytime I hear her say fishes, I think Bass, and I think like, JoLa, and it makes me laugh. Yeah. I'm pretty much the most retarded person alive. *G*
