Joey in Rent
Jul. 9th, 2002 03:00 pmI will absolutely being going to NY to see Joey in Rent. It's my favorite show ever--we performed it when I was in high school (national champ showchoir show! best memories of my life!) and...just, yes. I will be going. But I want to go on a night when there's a ton of slashers and think that there ought to be a planned slasher night. We'll buy all the good tickets and make the teenies sit way, way back! *G* Last time I saw it we were literally in the last row of nosebleed seats and I'm not doin' that again.
But it's going to be weird--my friend C. was our Mark and he's this very lean, not terribly tall guy, and when we saw the show on Broadway a couple years ago, Mark was a very lean, not terribly tall blond guy (I don't remember who it was at the time--Kerri? Do you?) so big, Italian Joey's going to be an adjustment. I could see him as Roger probably a little more easily, or Collins, but--Mark and his camera and Joey, and the voice and the stage presence...yeah. Maybe. And Joey doing the Tango Maureen! One of my favorite parts of the show. And, ooh--just ooh.
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea, actually.
So, um, does anyone know if there's going to be like a planned group o' slash fans at the show? And if I don't buy tickets until like, September, which I probably won't cause I'm gonna be broke after my trip to Fayetteville, will they be sold out maybe? Because I'll rearrange financial things, absolutely, live on rice and not buy souveniers or something if I have to. *G*
Wow, really, the more I think about it, the more incredible I think it'd be. Cool. :)
