If you are thinking that maybe my new fandom is my cats, you are not wrong. But I'm totally rationing it. I promised myself I wouldn't picspam again until I'd had Sally a week, and now I won't do it again until I've had her a month. Unless they do something unutterably adorable, in which case I can't be held responsible for my actions.

So, I took today off and spent most of the morning wallowing in a nap on the couch with Jack sleeping on my legs and Sally on my back. The minute I got up to take a shower, though, they gacked my blankets.

You can't really tell, but he's licking her head in this picture. She got sick of it pretty quick, but he was persistent. *G*

She is getting SO BIG.

Although of course, big is totally not the word. Jack is still enormous in comparison to her and watching them play is. It's a thing that's kind of precious, but at the same time you're pretty sure someone's head is going to get squashed, you know?

I'm so glad that Jack got over his hissing-till-I-choke phase so quickly, and went right into bonding. I just feel like I win so much! They're both adorable and bad and wonderful and affectionate and full of personality, and they're bonding. Now I am just crossing my fingers and hoping that there is not massive destruction in my future, because the play, it is pretty rambunctious already. And hysterically funny, but meep. *G*

I kind of feel the need to disclaim because there are a couple people who've friended me recently? If you friended this journal because you thought I'd be posting about fandom all the time, and now you're here and it's cats and once in a while squee about bandslash or Torchwood or SGA, or every now and again fic, and you're bored or think my cats are ugly or something, defriend at will! Not that I can imagine wishing to escape pictures of cats, but whatever, you know. I accept many unusual lifestyle choices as valid!

I feel especially strongly about this today because yay my state is protecting gay marriage, and I spent a good couple hours watching P!atD clips on Youtube, and don't think those two aren't linked in my mind now because they are, they are; anyway. And last week I wrote directions that were disturbingly cat macro-esque, right down to 'The bridge. Go over it.' I have a lot of reasons to try and be open-minded about other people. *G*

And now I am going to steal my spot back and nap until right about bedtime, I think. ;-)

Never apologise for cat pictures! One of livejournal's functions is totally to be an efficient mode of cat picture distribution, and anyone who has a problem with you posting kitty pictures is totally dead inside.

Well, I like to make sure people know what they're in for. *grins* And hee, yes. Livejournal, the place for cats. That is one of my favorite things about it, I'll admit. Between kittens, cat macros, and baby animals, I exceed my daily quota of aaaws every day!

Again I am forced to say, SO CUTE.

I say it about 100x a day, myself. In between 'No!' and 'Stop that!' and 'WHAT?' *G*

I have nothing to say, just needed an excuse to use my new icon.

But they are cute and I wish my two cats liked each other as much after three years as yours do after a week.

OMG, precious icon! That cat has the most symmetrical markings, man. Like a ginger mustache. So cute!

I'm totally impressed with Jack's ability to adapt. I had really thought he'd have a more difficult time, and the first 36 hours of hissing made me nervous. But now it's like this was totally his idea! *grins*

That's Tantras, and he's my cutie. Fourteen years old, a long way from kittenhood, but when he plays with his catnip socks you'd never believe it.

That's a standard feline coping mechanism, to decide that it was all their own idea.

Ahhh maybe age makes a difference? Tantras was 11 when you got a new cat? Jack is only three. In comparison to Sally he acts like a dignified gentleman but the reality is he's still a nutty kitten.

And right, yes, coping--like 'I meant to fall down there, did you see me plan that?' and also 'I meant to fall in the toilet, I thought I saw an alligator, I was saving you.' He totally intended all along to fall in like with Sally, he just didn't want to be obvious! *G*

Tantras was ten when his "mother," Katie, died (heart attack), and then I got Sarah (then about two). Then I moved up here and in with Tigger when he was eleven and Tigger was twelve. So yeah, age makes a difference. Really they get along well enough, as long as I pay attention to Tantras and Rita pays attention to Tigger.

Don't forget the "I didn't want to do that anyway" reaction to being yelled at for doing something.

Man, I totally have no cute meter anymore. I can't judge! Like, Jack could just be sitting somewhere and my brain translates it as the cutest sitting that has ever happened, or Sally could be prancing around after pooping in the living room (the box is giving us Issues) and I'm like, Sally, you're BAD--but you're adorable. *grins* Oh, pets. How so awesome?

Well, three weeks! Until Sally's 4th Thursday here, I thought! I don't *actually* want the reputation as a crazy cat lady, even if I am well on my way to being a crazy cat lady, you know? *G* But I'm pretty sure they'll be adorable before then and I'll end up breaking and posting again.

Yay Massachusetts indeed! I totally thought that they'd get the votes they needed and we'd all be hearing about this for the next two years, non-stop. I'm amazed and impressed that they only got 45 votes. The paper I work for is going to have fits in the editorials, and I can't wait to see the letters to the editor--but really, I'm just so HAPPY.

Anyway, yes! Personality plus! And TROUBLE plus, but what can I do, they are so cute? *grins*
