So, Rolling Stone came today with a cover of Britney Spears all monochrome and sad-face and BRITNEY SPEARS: INSIDE AN AMERICAN TRAGEDY splashed on the cover, and I actually had a sort of rage blackout. I stomped in the house, called my mom, and said, SHE ISN'T DEAD, YET, WTF. Are people TRYING to push her over the edge? It grosses me out! It pisses me off! You can't tell me the she'd be THIS crazy if it weren't for people being so OBSESSED with her and nasty about it and just--anyway, rage blackout, I'm better now.

But on page 33 is a picture of Brendon and Jon from the Nine if the Afternoon shoot, captioned Brendon and Jon eye each other lecherously while molesting an elephant, so, you know. Way to sort of attempt to buy back into my good graces, RS. Just--a little more dignity than ONTD would be nice. Ugh.

Re: Britney, I am continually HORRIFIED by the feeding frenzy over every unfortunate aspect of that girl's life. The feeding frenzy disgusts me a hundred thousand gazillion times more than anything about Britney, who no doubt isn't entirely a victim in all this but her faults/craziness/bizarre behavior are not what's horrifying me.

Yeah, I can't believe she's entirely the victim but it's just such a gross, symbiotic relationship--it really creeps me out that so many people make so much money off her breakdown, and SHE makes money because of THAT, and just. Ugh. Sad!

But it's no American tragedy, you know?
